Reflections - Seeing Beyond the Obvious

Art beyond the obvious can be found in unusual places, such as water features and other reflective surfaces. When we open ourselves to new possibilities, discoveries abound.

Reflections can flip a traditional subject and instantly render it interesting. They can multiply colors and forms, warp them, and even create new stories.

Large Fern Fronds and other plants at the water's edge can be easy to fixate on as they ride the ripples and transform into endless fascinating configurations.

Almost an illusion, this image has been flipped vertically to position the reflection as though it was the actual image as shot. The image that came into my lens is here:

In the image above, a simple reflection has been mirrored and then flipped to create an other-worldly scene.

Reflective surfaces can be any number of materials, such as this black glass table top with gelled lights bounced off the walls and repeating the curves and color of the Calla Lily, above, as well as the metallic surface of the extended table below on which Glenn is leaning.
